DIY Valentines Treat & Gift

Hey! With Valentines Day being less than a week away I'm going to share 2 Valentines DIYs with you, these are great to give to your BFF. They're both super easy, affordable, and cute.

Besties Valentine Gift!
This one is also good for a valentines party favor.

picked up this pink heart pale in the dollar area at Target and filled it with some cute things like chocolate (this pack was $1 at Target), fuzzy socks from the Target dollar area, and some pink lip gloss from Victoria Secret. This is perfect to give to a friend or an affordable favor if you're having friends over.

Red Velvet Rice Crispy Treats!
These can be given as a gift too, just box them up and put a cute label on it.
I got this recipe from the Febuary issue of American Girl magazine and just added the white chocolate drizzle.

1 10.5 ounce bag of mini marshmallows
3Tbs. Butter
1/4 cup dry red velvet cake mix (sifted)
6 cups rice crispy cereal
White Chocolate

These are pretty much just like making regular rice crispy treats except you add the cake mix to it.
First melt your butter in the microwave, this should take about 30-45 seconds. Stir in the marshmallows & heat it for 20 seconds at a time stirring inbetween until smooth & melted. Add the cake mix to your marshmallow mixture and stir until blended. Then add cereal and stir until it's evenly coated (this part I ended up doing with my hands).
Now spread the mix in a 9 x 13in pan, the recipe says to use a spoon. If you use a spoon make sure to butter the back of it first or you can just use your hands.
Then let it cool down a bit and grab your heart cookie cutter to cut out some hearts. Once you're done with that grab your white chocolate, I used a whole bar. Melt in the microwave at 20 second intervals stirring inbetween so that the chocolate doesn't burn. Take a spoon and drizzle it on too of your hearts. Enjoy!

I hope you all have a great Valentines Day whether you're spending it with your girls, one your own or with that special someone. As always, follow me on Bloglovin & Pinterest.

My Workout Routine

Today I'm going to share my fitness routine with you. I love working out, but in the new year I want to make more time to do it. My goal is to exercises 5-6 days a week, right now I'm at about 2-3. Comment your fitness goals down below!
Let's get into it!

I like to either go to the gym, workout at home, or take the dogs for a walk.

If I'm working out at home, this is pretty much how it goes. A lot of the time I warm up, stretch then use a video, because I can change it up and staying with the vid doesn't let me give up. My favorite is the Blogilates vids (Click here), there's an app for them too.

When I need a quick workout, I'll do my own:
Warm up w/ jumping jacks & high knees
Stretch (I'll stretch for about 5min) Blogilates has a great stretching for flexibility vid.
Sit ups
Flutter kicks
Calf raises
Russian twists
Wall sit
Cool down stretch

• If your having trouble motivating yourself, get a friend to workout with you or do classes at the gym—Zumba, yoga, & kick boxing are my favorites. It's at a set time so you can't put off going, plus Zumba is fun.
• Try a sport—gymnastics, martial arts, tennis, soccer, track, etc. are all good to stay in shape.
• Drink lots of water! Coconut water is a great alternative to sports drinks because it's super hydrating.
• Working out relieves stress! So next time you're super stressed about that test coming up take a break and work out.

Fast & Easy Healthy Snacks

Today, I'm going to share some quick, easy, and healthy snacks with y'all. The hardest part (I think) of eating healthy is when I want a quick snack—junk food is always the quickest thing to grab, but here are some snacks that are fast and healthy, but still taste really good. Also, these are all vegetarian snacks. Let's get right into it!

Chia Yogurt Parfait:
This is so delicious and good for you. It makes a great snack but I've also used more yogurt and fruit, made it in a big tea cup or mason jar and had it for breakfast. It's super filling.

What you'll need:
2 Low fat vanilla 6oz yogurt cups
2Tbs. Chia seeds
Fruit - fresh or frozen
Take one of the yogurt cups and put 2Tbs of chia seeds in and stir it up. Now you can either wait 10 -15 min before continuing or put it all together then wait a bit so the chia seeds have time to absorb and become kind of a gel.
Put your chia yogurt in a cup, jar or bowl and layer your fave fruit on top. I'm using frozen peaches (for frozen fruit let it thaw first) and fresh sliced banana. Grab your second yogurt cup and spoon yogurt on top of the fruit until you have a layer, put in as much as your heart desires then put some more fruit on top and sprinkle on the granola. Easy, right?

Zucchini Pizza Bites:

I found this recipe on Shelby Church's YouTube channel here's a link for the recipe in her after school snack video. (CLICK HERE
Zucchini may not sound like it would taste good with sauce and cheese, but it's actually amazing.

Mediterranean Pops:

Here's what you'll need:
Coco lite multi grain pop cakes
Half bell pepper or 1 Roma tomato

I normally eat two of these, so get out all the ingredients and dice the bell pepper or tomato (today I'm going to use bell pepper because I ran out of tomatoes), then spread some hummus on top of your pops and just sprinkle the vegetables on top. That's all there is to it.

I hope these help you eat healthier in the new year! Comment which one is your favorite & let me know if you try any of them! Follow me on Bloglovin & Pinterest
Have a great week
