World Elephant Day was created in 2012 to raise awareness and money to help save elephants that are endangered by poachers, habitat loss, human-elephant conflict, and terrible treatment in captivity. Even if you can't donate money, you can still help. Take a little time to check out worldelephantday.org
There are four ways you can help!
1) You can donate. You can donate on either the World Elephant Day site or another great charity, Wildlife SOS, which rescues elephants (like Raju) and other wildlife in India.
2) You can sign the pledge on the World Elephant Day site.
3) Spread the word! After you sign they pledge, they'll send you a media pack and you can share them on social media.
4) Post on social media and submit on the World Elephant Day site a picture of a handmade elephant with the hashtag #elegram. It can be a drawing, painting, clay, or any handmade elephant. If they get get 20,000 submissions, $150,000 will be donated to The Nature Conservancy to help elephants in Africa! Check out mine:
